Coordinating center: Sir Mortimer B. Davis Jewish General Hospital-Montreal

Design: To develop a multi-disciplinary, cross pillar research team to study multiple aspects of SSc. Fundamental to this endeavor is the creation of a common Canadian Scleroderma Database.

Inclusion criteria:

• Age 18 or older
• Scleroderma diagnosed by local investigator

Exclusion criteria:

• Not fluent in English or French
• Subjects not likely to be compliant with study procedures and protocol specified visits
• Any dosorder that compromises ability to give informed consent for participation in the cohort.
• A diagnosis other than rheumatoid arthritis that accounts for the patient's inflammatory arthritis

Primary outcome measure: Create a research team (CSRG) by creating a research database of SSc patients in Canada

Secondary outcome measures: Assess whether the plan for the CSRG is realistic and if so, will provide us with pilot data to be able to proceed with a New Emerging Team.

Recruitment period: September 2004

Completion: December 2008

Date of expected analysis:  Data will be collected over the next 3 to 4 years
